Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Trailer Shows Who's Who of Spider-People

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse The official Spider-Verse trailer has debuted online, and as a major webhead, I couldn't be more excited for its arrival next year.

Why? Due to the sheer number of Spider-People making their debut in Sony's animated sequel. I could honestly sit here and list each one of them, but I'll be here all day. And honestly, you better see them all for yourself.

Without further ado, check out the official Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer below:

This isn't the first time Spidey fans have been treated to a multiverse movie with a group of Spider-People at its heart. Across the Spider-Verse, the predecessor to 2018's award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, did it first. Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man's third solo MCU movie, meanwhile, drew a huge following, with the likes of Andrew Garfield's Tobey Maguire and Spider-Men, Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn and Doc Ock by Alfred Molina. crowd pleasing effect.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, however, it looks like these movies (and Marvel's many multiversal projects) will get a boost when they hit theaters next year.

Not only will we see returning fan favorites like Spider-Gwen, Peter B. Parker, and, of course, Miles Morales, but Across the Spider-Verse will come packed with many, many, many other fans of the web. Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Punk, Spider-Woman, Spider Cop and Insomniac's PlayStation version of Spider-Man are just five of the new wall-crawler-inspired heroes in the latest trailer for the film. Die-hard Spidey fans will have a field day recognizing each other.

Absolutely alive for the endless amount of classic, cult, and fan-favorite Spider-People in this trailer. Let's go #SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse https://t.co/NSrr92vZjk December 13, 2022

So what is Across the Spider-Verse all about? In a press release, Sony broke it all down, or rather what it can tease about the film's release: "After meeting Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man, the friendly, full-time neighborhood of Brooklyn is catapulted through the multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People tasked with protecting his very existence.

"But when the heroes clash over how to deal with a new threat, Miles finds himself face to face with the other spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero in order to save the people he loves most."

It looks like we might actually be putting a spin on Marvel's Spider-Verse and Spider-Geddon comic series, which featured multiple factions of the Spider-People throughout their careers. Based on the sheer number of Spider-based heroes and villains we'll be seeing in Across the Spider-Verse, we'd be surprised if that wasn't the case.
