South Africa Mobile Networks Ranked



The Mobile Network Quality Report 2020, compiled and published by MyBroadband Insights, gives South Africans the chance to see how their mobile network stacks up against the rest. The report is based on 1,2 million speed tests. These were recorded between January 1 and December 31, 2020 by 41,000 users of the MyBroadband Speed ​​Test app in South Africa. The data shows that MTN is the leading mobile network in the country. As expected by some, Rain arrived last. The country's average download speed for 2020 was 29.33 Mbps and an average download speed of 11.24 Mbps.

Network quality level

MyBroadband has performed a Network Quality Score calculation for each network, using upload and download speed as well as latency. The network quality score, ranked out of 10, indicates how well the network is performing compared to other networks.
