Sony's colorful blue, pink and purple PS5 controllers are now available

Sony's new colorful PS5 controllers are now available for purchase and are already popular with consumers.

The Nova Pink and Starlight Blue PS5 DualSense controllers were supposed to launch on January 28 in the US, but are now available earlier than expected from the Sony Direct Store (you can still pre-order them on Amazon, if you prefer). The new pads were still scheduled for January 14 in the UK and now you can buy one.

The Starlight Blue model has already reached number one on Amazon's bestseller list for PS5 controllers in the UK and number one for new releases in the US.

The pink and blue DualSense controllers join the standard white DualSense controller that has been available since November 2020, as well as Midnight Black and Cosmic Red variants that launched in June 2021.

If you've got your eye on Waluigi's Galactic Purple, you'll need to buy it from Sony's PlayStation Direct store, as it's not available from other retailers.

PS5 DualSense's three colors match the new PS5 console skins that allow you to personalize your console. Starlight Blue, Nova Pink, Cosmic Red, Galactic Purple, and Midnight Black versions are available, so you can say goodbye to the divisive white color scheme once and for all. (Unless you've already purchased a set of Darkplates from dbrand, that is.)

Analysis: 2022 looks promising for PS5 owners

After a rather disappointing end to 2021, PS5 owners have a lot to look forward to this year. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will be released on January 28, and Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 are scheduled to release on February 18 and March 4, respectively.

We're also expecting Sony to release the PSVR 2 towards the end of the year, which looks like an impressive VR headset based on the specs shared by Sony at CES 2022.

Of course, the biggest hurdle Sony faces is getting PS5 consoles into the hands of consumers. Although supply has improved, it is still extremely difficult to find PlayStation 5 units in stock. Still, it's good to see Sony creating more custom drivers.
