Nvidia's delayed GTX 1630 budget graphics card could be out in days

Nvidia's supposedly incoming GeForce GTX 1630, a graphics card aimed at the entry-level market, will now debut on June 28 according to the latest rumours.

This isn't the first time we've heard of a release date for the GTX 1630, of course, and in fact this marks the third date unveiled via GPU Vine. For starters, this budget graphics card was supposed to launch on May 31, before the on-sale date was pushed back to June 15.

Of all evidence, the mi-juin is allée et venue without any view of the GTX 1630, and maintainer the dernier mot est qu'elle apparaîtra enfin le 28 juin, dans quélques jours seulement, as le rapporte VideoCardz (s'ouvre dans un new tab). The source is IT Home (opens in a new tab), the technology site that pulls information from the Chinese Board Channels (opens in a new tab) forum, which mentions that the Colorful GTX 1630 models will ship in preparation for the June 28 on-sale date: meaning the cards will actually be on the shelves for purchase at that time (not just revealed).

Naturally, take all of this with a grain of salt, as the latest two rumored release dates clearly illustrate; in fact, given what's happened, we're particularly skeptical as to whether Third Chance will materialize on the speculation here.

Review: Release it now, Nvidia (if this GPU is coming)

At the very least, that hopefully indicates that the GTX 1630 is yet to come, as we can't wait to see what Nvidia might do with this lower-end model. Even though previous rumors about it have been pretty lukewarm in terms of the supposed spec and how hampered it could be.

From what we've heard so far, synthetic benchmark performance shows the 1630 lagging behind the GTX 1050 Ti, and there's been a lot of question about the suitability of a product unless Nvidia offers a really low price. And maybe those expectations have something to do with those delays.

Alternatively, the 1630 might not be a high-priority project for Team Green and is therefore being refurbished. Will the GTX 1630 be another graphics card that is rumored to end up being cancelled? Well, these apparent multiple bugs, and the general reception of the theoretical specs, might indicate that. Or the rumor mill might be completely off the mark with this dot map (although that seems unlikely, considering it keeps popping up on launch radar).

Hopefully next week we'll finally get a look at the GTX 1630, at least so we can find out the actual specs, and if they fit into that 'GTX' brand, which has always been tied to gaming, as opposed to something very cheap, that it's more. It is likely to be installed on a home theater PC.
