The Nintendo Switch Lite is at its lowest price ever in the UK, with a new retail price of €159 on the handheld console, down from its previous price of €179. The drop in prices appears to be in the UK only right now, but it marks a significant saving given that the console was only down to $169 in Black Friday sales last year. (Not in the UK? Scroll down to see prices in your area.) The news is all the more welcome given the impending release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which is set to release on March 20. That means anyone who wants to jump on the Switch bandwagon for the latest episode of Animal Crossing, or buy a second, smaller Switch to share with the family, can do so for a little less.

The Switch Lite handheld console is more portable than its big brother, although it doesn't have the ability to stream gameplay on a TV. For those who game on the go, it's a real joy to use. Available in turquoise, yellow and grey. The price drop is great news for anyone shopping for a new Switch, even if it suggests that other new hardware iterations may be in the works, given Nintendo's usual reluctance to score its hardware until 'she's got something else with margins of similar benefit in the .. horizon. Unfortunately, the special edition Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch console is priced the same as €319 before, but your overwhelming kindness should ease the shopping pain.
