Microsoft Surface Hub 2S lets you bring your meeting to the office

If you think your office lacks collaborative mobility, the new Microsoft Surface Hub 2S could be the answer.

First revealed in April, the large format smart monitor is now available in the UK and we had the opportunity to actively participate in the recent Microsoft Future Decoded event in London.

What's surprising about the new Surface Hub 2S is that, unlike its predecessors, the new device is designed for portability, which sounds strange for a 50-inch screen, but the camera comes with the option of a slippery mount. The ability to shoot it wherever you want.

"Are we thinking about the modern workplace and the way we bring this software to life?" Said Ben Highfield, surface product manager at LaComparacion Pro during our session on Future Decoded.

"We've talked about ink and touch devices that make you feel engaged wherever you are, but Hub is really our way of allowing teams to do it wherever they are."

The ability to roll the Surface Hub 2S anywhere makes it the ideal collaboration tool in the workplace. You can start at your desk, then move it to a small private room to start a project individually, before transferring it to a large meeting room with a larger team to detail all the details.

Like its predecessors, the Surface Hub 2S enables large-scale collaboration, allowing remote workers to connect anywhere in the world. Colleagues are not just passive bystanders, but those with the right software can make their own changes and suggestions in real time, allowing your team unprecedented cooperation.

Surface Hub 2S can be paired with a removable mobile webcam, the Surface Hub 2 Camera, which connects to all sides of the device, and it also comes with the Surface Hub 2 Pen, which allows you to start typing and writing.

In the included Whiteboard app, ideas can be quickly scribbled, edited, highlighted, and much more - we've seen a demonstration where a rough box drawn by the Surface Hub 2 pen wraps around a whiteboard allowing for splitting actions and deliverables.

With eight hypersensitive microphones, two speakers and a dedicated subwoofer, the Surface Hub 2S seeks to involve all users in the execution of jobs and allow users to work optimally.

Surface Hub 2S is available in the UK starting at € 8,499.99. The Steelcase Roam mobile stand costs an additional € 1.350.
