Microsoft Teams finally fixes one of its most shocking problems

One of the most annoying aspects of playing with Microsoft Teams streaming video could soon be fixed thanks to a new update.

The video conferencing platform is working on an update that it says "eases the transition" at various points in a call, namely turning video streaming on and off.

Called simply "Mixed Grid View in Meetings," the update will put all call participants in a 16:9 ratio, which means Microsoft Teams users should miss that slightly overwhelming moment that happens when someone he turns off his camera, causing everyone's viewing window to blend. and resize.

The feature is still listed on the official Microsoft 365 roadmap (opens in a new tab) as "in development" at this time, with rollout expected to begin in June 2023. At launch, it will initially only be available for Windows desktop users. , before expanding to others soon after.

The update is the latest in a series of changes made by the company to ensure that Microsoft Teams is a smooth and intuitive experience.

This includes the recent announcement that Microsoft Teams will finally get video filters, which the company hopes will allow users to express their own personalities, as well as hide features they don't want revealed.

Initial visual effects include animated images and video tint modification, in addition to existing tools that allow users to blur backgrounds and smooth streaming video to hide blemishes.
