Leaked Samsung Galaxy S23 renders show uninspiring color selection

We've already heard from multiple sources that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series could come in just 4 shades, but we haven't seen what all those colors actually look like, but we may know now.

Leaker SnoopyTech (opens in a new tab) has shared renders of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in all 4 rumored shades, namely Cotton Flower (a cream shade), Misty Lilac, Botanic Green, and Phantom Black.

If this leak, and others, are accurate and both phones are available in these colors, then surely the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus would be, although that phone isn't pictured here.

Of course, we'd take these renders with a grain of salt, but the source claims to have "confirmed" (opens in a new tab) that these images are accurate. In addition to this, some of these colors have been shown in other images, and the design of the phones is also completely in line with the other leaks.

Namely, the standard Samsung Galaxy S23 appears to have a new camera design, with the metal casing of the Samsung Galaxy S22 removed in order to allow the lenses to sit individually. This is the main visual change we are waiting for.

Analysis: A jaded selection, but there are reasons to doubt

While this isn't the first time we've heard these colors cited for the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, this leak is possibly incorrect or incomplete.

Samsung typically offers a slightly different color selection for its Ultra models than it does for other phones, so the identical choices here seem strange.

Additionally, the company sometimes features exclusive shades instead that might not be considered here, and is also known to release auxiliary colors at a later date. So there may still be other alternatives.

We certainly hope so, as the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is available in a wider selection of colors, with not only more options, but also probably the most interesting ones, like Bora Purple and Burgundy.

All of the colors shown here appear to be slightly muted tones, and while the green model is arguably a bit more interesting, there was also a green option last year, so that's nothing new. Hopefully more ringtones will be offered by then as that would help make these phones stand out among the best Android phones.
