LG could be about to launch an ultralight 16-inch MacBook Pro

A new line of LG laptops could be on the way as soon as next year, according to online reports. LG typically announces the next versions of its Gram laptops towards the end of the year before revealing them to the public at CES in January. Recent leaks suggest that the company will follow this proven posting formula in the coming months. On November 29, Twitter user Cosyplanes, who has built a massive following thanks to his tech leaks, posted a photo of what he says is next year's 14-inch LG Gram. The device will have the model number 14Z90P. Another Twitter leaker posted a similar image corroborating the details. More substantially, Notebookcheck.net reports that the Federal Communications Commission's database contains listings for three new LG Gram laptops, adding 16-inch and 17-inch models to the 14-inch version.

Everything will be revealed

Unsurprisingly, details remain scant in the field and it will likely remain the case until we get an official announcement (or bigger leaks). Still, it's worth noting that LG won't be offering consumers a 15-inch model, which was available with earlier versions of Gram laptops. Instead of a 15-inch screen, LG seems to offer a 16-inch model with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Such a device could offer a great alternative to the MacBook Pro. While Apple's device is likely to provide more power, it is also likely to be more expensive and not come with legacy ports. If they're important to you, leaked images of upcoming LG Gram devices show that two USB-A ports and a microSD slot will be included. Based on previous years, LG is unlikely to keep fans waiting to hear about its new laptops. The exact type of specs they will boast will likely be revealed in the coming weeks. Via NotebookCheck
