LG's C3 and G3 OLED TVs are now available to buy – here's what we think

The latest batch of LG OLED TVs for 2023 are finally available to buy in the US and UK, and it might finally be time to upgrade your home theater setup.

The star of the show for those of you looking for a balance between price and performance is the new LG C3 OLED. We may have only given the TV a four-and-a-half star rating in our LG C3 OLED review, a hair behind the five stars we gave its predecessor in our LG C2 OLED review, but it's a TV nonetheless. fantastic that it comes in a range of sizes from 42 to 83 inches.

Starting at $1399/£1499 for the smaller 42-inch model (the 55-inch model will set you back $1899/£2099), the LG C3 has new HDR enhancement features that improve picture quality and a webOS interface. improved TV. with aesthetic and functional improvements that make it the best version of LG's operating system to date. Although the audio hasn't gotten much of an update, the C3 OLED is a strong contender for the best TV of 2023, so if you're in the market for a new display, this might be just the thing for you.

Alternatively, if you have a larger budget, you may prefer the higher-end LG G3 OLED. We haven't spent enough time with this display to judge it correctly with a qualified review, but our first impression of the LG TV was that it "crushes all high-end TVs so far."

Along with the HDR enhancement features found in the C3 OLED, the G3 features Brightness Booster Max, a trio of enhancements that allow it to deliver 70% more peak brightness than regular OLEDs, and the effect of these upgrades it is a sight to behold. Picture quality is so impressive that our home entertainment editor, Amelia Schwanke, said watching a movie on the G3 OLED was almost as immersive as wearing a VR headset: Amelia found herself physically stepping back from the screen due to the close-ups of the new Netflix movie. . The hunger seemed and she felt so real.

That said, the LG G3 will set you back a pretty penny, with the cheapest 55-inch option coming in at €2499/€2599, while the larger 83-inch model will set you back €6499/€7499.

LG B3: a more affordable option

If the LG C3 and LG G3 OLED TVs are a bit out of your price range, you can pick up the LG B3 OLED TV, which is now available to buy in the US and UK as well.

Don't count out the more affordable LG B3 OLED (Image credit: LG)

This weathered TV won't be as impressive as the other displays LG has released, but it's still a solid choice. Its chipset is slightly less advanced - it's the a7 Gen 6 processor instead of the LG C9's a6 Gen 3 chipset - but it still packs plenty of high-end features.

These include a 4Hz 120K display that's perfect for gaming, and it comes with the same handy quick media switching feature that lets you switch between HDMI sources faster than on other devices. improvement in quality of life. You'll miss the C3 and G3's hands-free voice commands, though, as well as OLED evo display technology that improves image brightness; though at a relatively affordable $1,599 / £1,799 for its 55-inch model, I'd expect it to be slightly less impressive in performance than LG's pricier offerings.
