Keeper's password manager gets a makeover with a whole new user interface

The popular password manager Keeper (opens in a new tab) has released a major new update that completely revamps its user interface for a smoother interactive experience.

The new updates, which are available across its web, desktop, and mobile app platforms, will improve "efficiency, clarity, searchability, accessibility, and workflow," according to the company.

Keeper, our pick for the best password manager for midsize businesses, hopes the new improvements will make it easier for users to find and organize their passwords, especially those with larger vaults. Accessibility updates are also being made to improve navigation for the visually impaired.

The "fresh, updated look with a modern style" reduces the grid lines and offers "cleaner" colors, along with the ability to customize them and adjust the flaps. The number of clicks will also be reduced when performing a certain task, for a smoother experience.

Record and folder details now have new animations, and modals, popups, and dialogs are introduced for improved organization and navigation. In addition, a new browser extension will be available soon that will maintain a fixed size on all screens and offer similar enhancements to the mobile versions of the app.

It will also provide "a more spacious layout, easier identification of key fields, useful settings and features with easy-to-find logos, and simple navigation with new layouts."

The admin search functionality has also changed: now with advanced search, many search operators can be used in combination to locate the credentials you're looking for more efficiently, as well as the ability to explore specific values in specific fields.

A new quick search feature has also been introduced, which can bring up recently viewed items in an instant.

As for accessibility, Keeper says the new user interface "will provide colors, contrast, and font/icon sizes that conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards."

In addition, the user interface of the mobile versions of the app now features "friendly elements that are easier to read and navigate on smaller screens." Performance improvements are also being made to the iOS versions of the app, along with better search features.

Those using Password Manager on Android will get a new default light mode, plus new customizable themes. Also new is a navigation bar for quick access to important app screens, as is "frictionless multi-factor authentication (MFA) login."

“We are passionate about creating solutions that are as easy to use as they are secure,” said Keeper CEO and Co-Founder Darren Guccione. “At Keeper, our design and product teams are constantly working to modernize Keeper's cybersecurity products for world-class security and ease of use.
