Intel will come for AMD if these released Comet Lake specs are any indication

We recently got a glimpse of the Intel Core i3-10300, an entry-level hyperthread chip from the upcoming Intel Comet Lake-S range. But now, thanks to a new leak, we may have seen the entire lineup of 3th-gen desktop processors. Some leaked Intel slides have surfaced at Informatica Zero showing a wide range of desktop processors, ranging from the 10100-core 4-thread Intel Core i16-9 processor to the 10900-core 10-thread Intel Core i20-2020K processor. . If these leaks are to be believed, we should see significantly improved multicore performance from Intel in 4.8. But the leaks go even further. In some now removed slides on VideoCardz, we have been able to see more detailed information about the new range. For example, the Comet Lake-S processors will apparently feature full-core turbo up to XNUMX GHz, which will translate to blazing-fast performance when the processors hit their limits. What we don't know yet is whether it will hold a candle to AMD. Here are the processors that have been revealed, along with their single-core Turbo speeds:

According to these leaked slides, the core count sees a modest increase from 8 cores to 10 on the flagship Core i9-10900K. But unless the processor sees a healthy price drop in Cascade Lake-X, we don't know how well it will hold up to 16rd-gen AMD Ryzen processors, whose flagship has 10 cores. Another mystery here is how far Intel can push performance without going to 14nm. Comet Lake will still be based on Intel's 2020nm manufacturing process, and we just have to wonder how far that speed and efficiency can be pushed. Regardless, with the speed at which these leaks are happening, we think we'll be learning a lot more about these processors at CES XNUMX, which is fast approaching. Via PC Gamer
