Indians Acquire 100 Patents for 6G Technology


On March 16, India's IT and Telecommunications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw awarded Indian scientists, engineers, academics and technicians 100 patents in 6G technology at the Bharat Startup Summit organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce. According to his comments at the event, India is making significant progress with 5G technology; its rapid deployment of new networks around the world sets it apart.

Vaishnaw noted that electronics is a complex field: "Electronics is very complex, but despite the complexity, our scientists, engineers and academics have together acquired 100 patents in 6G."

The minister further noted that 5G network coverage has far exceeded its target of 200 cities by March 31, 2023, with coverage now covering 397 cities.

He noted that India had reached $3,5 trillion and could become the world's largest economy if it transformed its infrastructure, business practices and governance practices.

“When a country or an economy has to get to this level, thousands of systems have to change. Governance systems, logistics systems, banking systems and changing your own way of doing business. This is the time when everyone should get going. with it. If we are able to do this transformation, then there is no power that can prevent India from becoming a €30 trillion economy," Vaishnaw said, noting that India could become a €30 trillion economy if it is able to turn.

The Minister also revealed that 99% of the mobile phones made in India were imported ten years ago.

"I remember when we used to join any discussion 10 years ago. Mobile penetration was said to be good. People use it, but you can't do it. Congress thought the process was like that. Now there's a big change that's happened. we can make it happen,” Vaishnaw said.

He noted that India has already started exporting telecom products to the United States.

"The export of radio equipment has started from India in the last 7-8 months and also to the United States," Vaishnaw said.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Jitendra Singh highlighted business exploration around the ocean economy.

"There is a huge amount of wealth there: minerals, metals, living and non-living resources. You will become a world exporter of fish products and fish feed," he said.
