Horizon Forbidden West has been drinking alcohol, swearing and "impaling"

Horizon Forbidden West is fast approaching its February 18, 2022 release date, and with the PS5 and PS4 release imminent, the first of its age groups has been revealed.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), which assigns age and content ratings to video games in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, rated Aloy's new robot-hunting adventure a "T" for gaming for teenagers, which means it won't fit in. for the little ones in your family.

The rating board indicates that the game features "blood, language, alcohol use, and violence" in its raison d'être, which is not surprising given the similar content of the first game.

death by statue

But the description that accompanies the rating offers a little more information about what to expect from the game. According to the ESRB rating:

"This is an action-adventure game where players take on the role of a hero (Aloy) who travels to discover the source of a mysterious signal. From a third-person perspective, players travel through environments/landscapes post-apocalyptic, complete missions, interact with characters and engage in battles against enemy tribes and robotic creatures.

“Players use slings, bows, javelins, and spears to slay enemies in frantic combat. Puffs of blood are displayed when human enemies are hit; Bloodstains also appear under bodies in some settings. Players can also perform stealth attacks (for example, impaling the spear) to take out enemies silently. Scenes depict additional acts of violence: a character impaled by swords or spears; a character crushed by a statue. The game features drunken characters stumbling and in one area declaring, "I'm intoxicated"; one scene shows Aloy drinking beer from a mug; Various background characters are seen drinking alcohol in taverns. The word 'sh*t' is heard in the game."

We love the sound of "Death by statue", that's for sure. I've always wanted to wield the Venus de Milo against a giant titanium T-Rex, so fingers crossed that Horizon Forbidden West finally fulfills this niche wish.

Aside from a delay in its release, Horizon Forbidden West had initially upset PS5 and PS4 owners when the game turned out to be a cross-generational release to begin with (and thus apparently didn't fully utilize the game's powers). to fit the older PS4 machine) and also that PS4 players would eventually have to pay extra fees to upgrade to next-gen PS5 features. Fortunately, this last decision was eventually reversed.
