Facebook's dark mode rolls out slowly on the iPhone

IOS (and possibly iPadOS) users are finally joining the Facebook dark mode party: the option has been confirmed to be slowly rolling out to Apple mobile devices, though it may not be -yet. Facebook has confirmed to SocialMediaToday that a "small percentage of users" can now turn on dark mode for iOS, with many tweets supporting it. It's unclear whether or not you need to be running the iOS 14 beta in order to view it. Android users have been testing dark mode since the beginning of the year, although it hasn't made its way to everyone yet, it remains to be seen if dark mode will come online for everyone on both Android and iOS. If it's available on your device, it should be in the Settings and privacy menu. Dark mode has also made its way to Facebook on the web, though it's not quite on everyone yet – here are instructions for turning it on in Chrome if you don't see it as a main official menu option.

Keep waiting

Given that dark mode has been embraced by many apps in recent months, it's strange that Facebook is lagging behind. In fairness to their engineers, they did manage to add it to Facebook Messenger last year. Last year, a system-wide dark mode was also officially launched for iPhones, with the arrival of iOS 13. It is possible that Facebook's dark mode could appear for everyone with iOS 14 plus. by the end of the year. Until then, you'll have to play the waiting game to get dark mode on your iPhone or iPad. The only other option is to enable a different look in Chrome for iOS or iPadOS. Here we have instructions on how to do it. In addition to enabling dark mode at the system level for Android and iOS, you can also find the setting in a multitude of individual apps, including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and the Google Search app. Via Apple Insider
