Apple withdraws Beats Pill Plus from sale without detours

Apple appears to have quietly ditched the Beats Pill Plus, as the Bluetooth speaker is no longer available for purchase from the Apple Store or the Beats online store.

As 9to5Mac pointed out, when you head over to the US, UK, or Australian versions of the sites, you'll no longer be able to purchase the speaker; you'll have to shop at third-party stores if you're interested in copying. a Beats Plus pill.

If you buy one or already own one, you'll be glad to know that the Beats Pill Plus hasn't completely disappeared from websites. Although the store page has been hidden, the support pages are still available if you need help using your Beats Bluetooth speaker.

If the speaker's disappearance is quite sudden, it is not the most surprising gesture. The Beats Pill Plus speaker launched in 2015, making it the brand's first product to launch after it acquired Apple for €3 billion in 2014.

Back then, the speaker was considered a pretty poor option (in our Beats Pill Plus review it earned three stars) and now, seven years later, it's comfortably outclassed by rival options that cost a fraction.

As such, we imagine that Beats Pill Plus sales figures haven't been at their peak for quite some time, and Apple has quietly allowed its inventory to run out.

The move could also be related to ongoing component shortages that have affected the availability of a long list of devices.

The Beats Pill Plus likely used a major component or two that could be better used in more up-to-date options, and Apple may have chosen to prioritize parts for its current lineup of devices, including the built-in HomePod Mini. speaker.

That said, until Apple makes an official statement, we can't be sure the speaker is gone forever. We've reached out to Apple to find out if this is the end of Beats Pill Plus, and we'll update this story as soon as we know more.
