Apple lowers the two-device limit when buying an iPhone online

A few days after Apple imposed a new limit on the number of devices a user could order at the same time, the company withdrew its policy. This limit was set in the United States and several other regions for the first time since the original iPhone launched in 2007, and is believed to have been introduced to alleviate supply issues amid a coronavirus epidemic. This limit has been lifted for users in the United States, Hong Kong, and mainland China, allowing users to purchase up to 10 iPhones per order. These limitations may be removed soon for other territories and other devices.

The coronavirus outbreak has forced Apple to temporarily close all physical stores outside of China. Therefore, home customers bought these devices online from the Apple website. The pandemic had a major impact on the entire technology industry, disrupting supply chains and shutting down production facilities resulting in higher prices and a shortage of equipment. Apple previously announced that it would face a shortage of spare parts and devices due to disruption in the supply chain. However, as the situation in China improves, Apple is slowly returning to regular production capacity, which should also lead to better delivery times. Via: Reuters
