Wondering what's new on Netflix this weekend? This isn't all that's new about streaming TV services this weekend. Hulu released its last great original, The Great with Nicholas Hoult, and the TV adaptation of Snowpiercer finally kicks off in the United States. Some great movies are now available to rent, including an animated version of Scooby Doo. Below are highlights of what you can stream this weekend on Netflix and other services, as well as some new shows and movies we're less convinced about.

Capon (VOD)

(Image credit: Vertical Entertainment) Directed by Josh Trank, who made the thrilling superpower-themed Chronicle film before his name was attached to the disastrous 2015 Fantastic Four film, it's something of a comeback for the filmmaker. . Originally slated for a theatrical release, this biopic about notorious criminal Al Capone stars Tom Hardy and focuses on his declining years after prison. Unfortunately Capone was released in the US but not the UK. Still, here's how to look at Capone if he's looking for ways to look at it. Rent Capone on Amazon Prime Video

White lines (Netflix)

The Big One (Hulu)

(Image credit: Hulu) From favorite screenwriter Tony McNamara, The Great looks like a similar mix of lavish period games and dark comedy. This new miniseries from Hulu tells the life of Russian Empress Catherine The Great and features two big stars in Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult (who also played memorable roles in The Favourite). Get a 30-day trial of Hulu if you want to check it out. Channel 4 will have the rights to The Great in the UK, but there is no word on when it will air. Now streaming on Hulu

The Wrong Missy (Netflix)

Produced by Adam Sandler, this Netflix comedy film is about a guy who invites his new girlfriend to a corporate retreat. Except, as his name implies, he invites the wrong girl, a former meeting disaster who threatens mild humiliation in front of his colleagues. With David Spade sporting a Lego figure haircut, Lauren Lapkus, and Hurley from Lost, the trailer doesn't make us overly optimistic. However, at a rare time when we can't go to the movies, maybe we can lower our standards enough to sit in The Wrong Missy. Now streaming on Netflix

Scooby (VOD)

(Image credit: Courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures) Another film skipping a theatrical release in favor of a premium rental, Scoob is a CG remake of the Scooby Doo franchise. Because what could be more persistent than a hippie who rides in a pickup truck solving mysteries with his dog, based on a 1969 cartoon? Kids of 2020 love it. Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried and Zac Efron are part of its voice distribution. Rent Scoob on Amazon Prime Video now
