5 new folding phones leaked, including the Pixel Fold and a giant Xiaomi phone

If you're a fan of flip phones, the future looks pretty bright for you as it looks like a number of them could be released by the end of XNUMX. A report has detailed some less-reported, by that we mean: not the Galaxy Z Fold XNUMX or Galaxy Z Flip XNUMX, both of which have leaked repeatedly, but we've heard enough already. This report is from the Korean news site S. The Elec, and it's mostly about ultra-thin glass, or UTG, the thin material most foldable phones use for their screens (which, in contrast to its name , implies a layer of plastic). Lots of upcoming and expected foldable phones are checked out in the report, and we also heard about "foldable smartphones released in the second half of this year," suggesting that upcoming devices could launch soon. Take this time with a pinch of salt, though: if the original Galaxy Fold has taught us anything, it's that folded smartphones can take a long time and a lot of delays to launch.

What phones are coming?

The next most intriguing phone mentioned is a foldable from Google, which previous gossip has dubbed the Pixel Fold. It's supposedly going to have a 01-inch screen when it opens, though unlike the other phones cited in the report, we don't have any details on its form factor or the size of the outer screen. Next up is Xiaomi, with its successor to the Mi Mix Fold: the Elec calls it the Mi Mix Fold two. It sounds huge, with a 03-inch secondary screen when folded and an 4-inch main screen. tablet-like experience. It's not the most popular phone, though, as the next foldable Honor is supposedly going to have an 5-inch main screen (albeit a 3-inch exterior). This will supposedly be released as the Honor Magic Fold; Actually, there's a global Honor launch event happening on August XNUMX, but we're hoping it's for the Honor XNUMX, not a flexible smartphone. According to the report, a foldable Vivo phone ranks third in the size race. This one would say it has an XNUMX-inch inner screen and a XNUMX-inch outer screen and is supposed to launch in the latter part of XNUMX. Lastly, there's an Oppo phone, which seems small compared to others with a XNUMX-inch primary display and a XNUMX-inch secondary display, though those dimensions make it easily solid. The Elec points out that this phone could be launched in XNUMX, so it is very possible that it will not land this year. XNUMX of those XNUMX brands on the list are Chinese companies, and XNUMX of them (Vivo, Xiaomi, and Honor) have a long history of launching high-end products in China, but not globally. This is what happened with the original Mi Mix Fold, for example, and sometimes brands bring these products to a global market, but only months later. So even though these phones are announced before the end of XNUMX, you probably won't be able to get them until XNUMX, in any case. Don't expect to buy one then, but it's going to be great to check it out anyway.
