We met VIZIO at CES 2020, where it announced the next generation of its SmartCast smart TV platform and a new range of sound bars (alongside a new range of TVs that you can see here). The improvements in SmartCast 4.0 were pretty obvious, and VIZIO needs praise for speeding up its high-end home screen experience. It should be noted that VIZIO says it expects the SmartCast update on TVs dating from 2016. The audio range has been overhauled for 2020, from industrial design enhancements to branded audio quality. The highlight is the new high-end VIZIO Elevate sound bar. It has Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. And it has speakers that rotate according to the sound profile. It's a really cool thing to hear, and kind of space age to actually see. And the sound? Spectacular.
