1More Sonoflow: Great All-rounders on a Budget

1MORE Sonoflow: Review in Two Minutes

The 1MORE Sonoflow are the first on-ear noise-cancelling headphones from this friendly and affordable brand of audio technology, and they're adamant proof that you can get a great pair of wireless headphones that tick most boxes for less than $100. 100/ XNUMX pounds sterling.

1MORE has been a TechRadar favorite for years. We gave the 1MORE Triple Driver in-ear headphones five stars in our review a few years ago, and they remain one of our top picks in our best headphones guide. The brand has also ventured into the true wireless headphone space and in 2018 launched the 1MORE Triple Driver over-ear headphones.

Yet again, the 1MORE Sonoflow is the brand's first pair of noise-cancelling headphones. They take a no-frills approach: the design of the earphones and the accompanying app is very simple. However, all the essentials are here. They sound great, noise cancellation is good, there's a fantastic 70 hour battery life (that's 50 hours with ANC on) and we found them very comfortable to wear all day.

While there aren't any groundbreaking new features, the 1MORE Sonoflow are solid all-rounders at a price that we think makes them better value for money than many of the best noise-cancelling and over-ear headphones out there. buy today. With that in mind, they're likely to have broad appeal for those looking for a great-sounding pair of headphones. Read on for our full 1MORE Sonoflow review.

1MORE Sonoflow Review: Price and Release Date

One of the big draws of 1MORE products is that they are cheap, and at €99 / €89 (about AUD $156), the 1MORE Sonoflow in-ear headphones continue the tradition. At this price, we wouldn't call them cheap over-the-ear headphones like the Sony WH-CH510, which retails for $59 / £50 / AU$89, but they're in what we consider to be the best price range around. . headphones and are priced similarly to some of our well-priced favourites.

Check out our review of the JBL Tune 750BTNC, cans that cost $130 / £120 / AU$200 at launch and have a similar comfortable design and powerful ANC. However, the 1MORE Sonoflow definitely outperformed the JBL product in terms of battery life, delivering 70 hours with ANC off compared to just 22 hours. They're also similar to the Urbanista Miami, which costs $149 / £129 / AU$269, but with the Sonoflow you'll get better ANC and audio.

Obviously, they're significantly cheaper than the best headphones you can buy today, like the Sony WH-1000XM4 over-ear headphones, which cost more than triple $350 / £349 / AU$549. These perform better than the 1MORE Sonoflow in many ways, which is what you'd expect. But then again, it all comes down to personal preference. If you don't have the budget for high-end headphones and don't need audiophile-level sound, the 1MORE Sonoflow headphones are a better choice.

1MORE Sonoflow Review: Features

Pairing 1MORE Sonoflow with an iPhone is incredibly easy, as is getting the app up and running in seconds. We also tested them with an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset and the Bluetooth connection was excellent throughout.

The accompanying 1MORE Sonoflow app isn't bad, but it's bland in terms of design and few features, especially compared to rivals with incredibly customizable and slick apps like the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless, although they are, of course, more expensive.

However, the basics are there. You can turn ANC on and off or select continuous mode, which works well for having conversations without removing your headphones. There's an equalizer, too, though you can't fully adjust or tune the headphones with a five-band EQ tab. Instead, there are 12 custom presets to choose from, including "Bass Booster" and "Classical." These may provide enough customization for most listeners, but will be disappointing for those who want more control.

In the app you'll also find a 'Relaxing Sounds' section, but these play in short 10 second loops which means it's really shocking when they end and start again, hardly relaxing. There's also an option called "Experimental Features" where you'll find multipoint pairing, which works well (but hardly "experimental" in 2022, right?) and apart from some expected extra features, like a firmware update option bet and a FAQ section, that's pretty much all from the app.

There are control buttons on the earcups, including three total buttons on the front and back of the right earcup. Each button does a few different things, which is confusing to remember at first. Luckily it didn't take long to learn them, but the experience wasn't as intuitive as with other headsets. There is also no option to customize features. On the other hand, if you like physical buttons rather than on-ear capacitive touch controls, these may be more appealing.

One annoying feature that we really noticed, after trying so many pairs of earphones, is that there are no sensors on board to detect when you take them off, to pause the music accordingly. That won't be a problem for some people, but we've gotten used to taking off an earbud or slipping on an earbud and pausing the music, and that's not happening here.

One of the main selling points of these headphones is the impressive battery life. They deliver a whopping 70 hours with ANC off and a still incredible 50 hours with ANC on. We found these 1MORE estimates to be accurate in our tests. When you need to charge them, you'll find a USB-C charging cable in their carrying case. We loved that a five-minute charge can give you over 4,5 hours of extra listening, and 1,5 hours of charging fills them to capacity.

In terms of rivals, that makes them one of the best noise-cancelling headphones for battery life that we've tested. One of our current favorite pairs of headphones, the Sony WH-1000XM4 have 30 hours of battery life with ANC on. They're second only to the excellent new Sennheiser Momentum 4 wireless headphones, which offer 60 hours of battery life, and that's with ANC on.

1MORE Sonoflow Review: Design

The 1MORE Sonoflow on-ear headphones come in a premium compact zippered case with a hard shell to protect them on the go. Practically, the places where the earmuffs fit are labeled, which makes them very easy to fold quickly.

The headphones have a simple design, quality hinges and a matte finish on the plastic case. The cups are made from a super soft memory foam and we love that they have a bright red fabric lining on the inside.

The headphones are incredibly comfortable to wear for long periods of time. That's thanks to those soft ear cushions, adjustable cups, lightweight design (they're only 250g), and a padded headband. Refreshingly, we found that we can actually keep those cans on all day, and that's rare.

Granted, some people might find this design a bit boring (it doesn't stand out as much as high-end headphones like the Bose Headphones 700 or Apple AirPods Max), but we think the minimalist aesthetic makes them more luxurious. than they should at this price.

Assuming you like the look of them, the only major downside here is that there's no water resistance rating, so we'd be very cautious about recommending them for fitness or outdoors. 'llueve. No, eso no es unusual para un par de auriculares asequibles con cancelación de ruido, pero una clasificación de IP sigue siendo una característica que nos hubiera gustado ver.

1MORE Sonoflow Review: Sound Quality

The noise cancellation offered by the 1MORE Sonoflow headphones is really impressive for the price. That is the key here. These aren't the best noise-cancelling headphones you can buy, but for less than £100 / £100 you're getting a great experience and we think most people will be impressed with their performance.

During our tests, we found that most ambient sounds and many standard low-frequency noises are completely drowned out. Some high-pitched noises will still be heard, and we found the constant noise of a fan in our office, as well as loud conversation on the nearby bus. But there was a big difference in how annoying those noises were when ANC was on and when it was off. Ainsi, even if they are not allowed by the meilleurs in the matière de suppression du bruit, it must be agreed with the many bureau environments and daily costumes, reducing the great number of graves and mediums that you will understand all the time of the journey.

The same can be said for the sound quality. No, 1MORE Sonoflow won't compete with hearing aids three or four times as expensive, but it's not what most people need. In our tests, we were impressed with the powerful bass and crisp, detailed highs on offer here, courtesy of Sonoflow's dual 40mm drivers.

Also, the EQ presets (albeit limited) affected music from one genre to another. For example, turning on "Bass booster" during a soul techno track was really impressive as it provided thumping bass. Bass was generally excellent through the headphones, and more importantly, it didn't distort even at high volumes.
