Xbox could introduce a new Fire TV-like streaming stick for its cloud gaming service, according to Xbox head Phil Spencer. In an interview with Stratechery, Spencer said the team discussed additional new tiers for Xbox Game Pass and that subscribers would receive a free TV stick as part of the deal that could play xCloud games. Spencer said, "I think you'll see cheaper hardware in our ecosystem when you think about streaming devices and other things that someone might want to just plug into their TV and play through xCloud." Added Spencer: "You can imagine we even have something we just included in the Game Pass subscription that gives you the option to stream xCloud games to your TV and buy the controller." Currently, Xbox users can sign up for Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the latter of which includes access to cloud gaming on Android devices. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is also included in Xbox All Access, Microsoft's two-year financial plan that allows users to pay monthly for a new console at no upfront cost. "We did a little bit with Xbox One last year," she explained. “If I went into All Access, I was sure to be on the front lines when Series X came out. People didn't know the name back then, but they did,” Spencer said. Microsoft has been talking about an Xbox TV stick for a while. In 2016, the company was all set to release ``Xbox TV,'' codenamed Project Hobart. However, the idea was ultimately scrapped.
