While the two companies are fierce computing rivals, Apple and Microsoft are teaming up to make Xbox Game Pass Ultimate even better for their subscribers.
Microsoft has announced that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can get two new free benefits: a three-month trial of Apple TV Plus and a three-month trial of Apple Music. If you're like me and haven't subscribed to the service before, you finally have a reason to check out Ted Lasso (who I'm told is awesome).
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is already a bargain for gamers. You have access to a library of Netflix-style games that you can download and play on your PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, or Xbox One, as well as a nearly identical library that can be streamed over the internet on your smartphone, Xbox console. or PC. I've recently been using it to play Persona 5 Royal and while the experience is much better on my 4K TV, being able to resume reading from my bed with my Pixel 6 is very helpful.
But in addition to the games, you also get free perks that include subscriptions to Disney Plus and Paramount Plus, as well as digital gifts for the titles you play. The only drawback to benefits that give you free access to other subscription services is that you may not have signed up for the service before.
So with these latest benefits from Apple, I can get the three-month trial of Apple TV Plus, which allows me to watch the best shows and movies on the streaming service for free, but as a current Apple Music subscriber, I'm going to wonder in three free months of this service.
You shouldn't miss out on it either, even if you're not a Game Pass Ultimate member yet. The benefits will be available to subscribers until March 31, 2023. As long as you sign up and claim them before then, you should be golden.
