Busy PC gamers can now get an accurate overview of how long it takes to complete a Game Pass game before kicking it off.
Xbox Game Pass has a ton of great features for console gamers on Xbox Series X|S, like the recent Discord integration. But its latest update is one for PC Game Pass, and sees Xbox partnering with HowLongToBeat to let you know how long it will take to complete a title in your PC Game Pass library.
Announced on the Xbox Blog (Opens in a new tab), the new feature is perfect for trophy hunters and busy gamers alike. It's also great for determining if you can fight your way through Death Stranding or one of the top eligible PC games before your subscription expires.
Save your time and your progress
(Image credit: Xbox)The HowLongToBeat function is now available and offers estimates for different styles of play. Finalists are catered for, as well as those of you who prefer to follow the main campaign and leave it at that.
HowLongToBeat is a community site dedicated to providing information on game times. The times listed will be a pretty accurate guide, but you can always help make it even more accurate by submitting your own times.
There are four categories at the moment, broken down as follows:
- Main story (required)
- You complete the main objectives, just enough to see the credits.
- Main story and additional missions / Medals / Unlockables
- You take your time, discover and complete additional tasks not required
- Completer (100%)
- You aim for every achievement, every medal, and conquer everything the game has to offer.
- Set
- All styles of play taken into account when estimating
And for the nerdies among you, more information is available on the official website (opens in a new tab). You'll find community reviews, game ratings, details on how people play, and even more data broken down by platform and playstyle.
The update also sees a 15% increase in launch speed for the Xbox app on PC, as well as better responsiveness when using "key experiences" in the app. Sessions without crashes have been reduced, which we love to hear, and similarly, reports of games not downloading or installing correctly have been reduced by almost 50%.
Joining the Xbox Insider Program will allow you to try out new console and UI features before anyone else. So if this sounds interesting to you, you can find more information and how to register on the official website (opens in a new tab).
