Street Fighter 6 brings back a classic character, as the first images of the game reveal.
Revealed at Summer Game Fest 2023, Guile returns to the classic fighting series in his next installment. Guile, who is a major in the US Air Force in the Street Fighter storyline, appeared in a short gameplay trailer for Street Fighter 6. This is the first gameplay we see of the upcoming game, which showcases the series as many fans. he will remember it, only with much prettier pictures.
Guile also appears to be the same charismatic fighter and groomer that fans will recognize from previous titles in the series. He can count on defeating his opponents while producing one-liners related to military slogans.
Check out the short gameplay clip below. Though brief, it gives us a solid look at the direction Street Fighter 6 is taking. For the most part, this direction seems safe, as it recreates the same combat experience that many will recognize from the series' arcade roots. Expect more of the same, but for modern hardware.
However, the reveal of Street Fighter 6 did not bring a firmer release date. We still have the tempting, if vague, window of 2023. Hopefully, that means early in the year, not later.
