One of the best horror games in years finally comes to Xbox Game Pass

It's been a busy and exciting month for Xbox Game Pass, headlined by one of the best and wackiest horror games in years.

This month on Xbox Game Pass, subscribers can look forward to playing great games on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The flagship title of the month is undoubtedly Ghostwire Tokyo from Tango Gameworks. In this unique horror game, players explore the abandoned streets of Shibuya, exorcising demons with a wide variety of supernatural abilities. It will launch on Xbox Game Pass on April 12.

Joining one of the best horror games is a wide range of other titles. The beloved indie Loop Hero is now available to play, and will be joined later in the month by Iron Brigade (April 6), NHL 23 (April 13), and the highly anticipated Minecraft Legends (April 18). The original Goat Simulator also returns to Xbox Game Pass starting today.

Aside from a few notable releases like Soul Hackers 2, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and Guilty Gear Strive, Xbox Game Pass has been a bit quiet since Hi-Fi Rush's surprise day one back in January. Glad another hit from Tango Gameworks, Ghostwire Tokyo, has finally landed on the service.

The reason Ghostwire Tokyo took so long to come to Xbox consoles, despite Microsoft buying Bethesda, is because the company honored the horror game's PS5 exclusivity period. Until this month, Ghostwire Tokyo was only available for PC and Sony consoles, and was also recently released on the PS Plus games catalogue.

Personally, I'm very excited to play Ghostwire Tokyo for the first time this month. I've been a big fan of Tango's previous work, especially Hi-Fi Rush and The Evil Within 2.

Like the first Tango horror series, Ghostwire Tokyo seems to have developed a divisive reputation. While some love its supernatural combat and compelling vertical exploration, much has been said about its underwhelming story and weak villains. Still, I'm very excited to explore his accurate interpretation of Shibuya. From iconic places like the Shibuya crossing to its winding and claustrophobic alleys.
