As one prolific tester pointed out, Twitter seems to be rolling out another feature for its users in the form of Super Follows, its version of Patreon and Ko-Fi. Twitter has been in full swing of late to see what features remain for its users so that it can rely less on the ad revenue that has sustained it since its launch in 2007. With the launch of Ticketed Spaces, along with the gradual launch of the Twitter service, Twitter Blue subscription in Australia and Canada, smaller features are expected to roll out to a broader audience in the near future. With that in mind, Super Follows looks like the next little feature to be announced to the masses.
What are Super Follows?
Think of it like a Patreon. Unlike the TipJar feature they seamlessly launched last month, this allows a 'super follower' to access perks like tweets and exclusive content that regular followers can't access or view in return. Users can set the monthly price and the content will be displayed on top of the subscriber's feed. The requirements for someone to set this up are easily achievable:- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have at least 10,000 subscribers
- At least 25 tweets sent in the last 30 days.
