Twitter begins testing Super Follows and paid spaces

Twitter begins testing Super Follows and paid spaces Twitter seems to be on a roll lately with everything it does. Whether it's your fight with governments around the world or the release of new features. After showing off rival Clubhouse - Twitter Spaces, followed by a paid tier with Twitter Blue, the microblogging platform is rolling out new features to help influencers monetize their content. Announced earlier this year, Ticketed Spaces and Super Follows qualify as an extension of Twitter Spaces and the company believes that content creators will be able to generate revenue using paid content from their followers. To be eligible for any of these, users must be 18+ with 10,000 followers and at least 25 tweets in the last 30 days. Those who feel eligible and want to apply for either program can visit Twitter's FAQ page. For now, the apps are only open to iOS users residing in the United States. Twitter says that with Ticketed Spaces, users will be able to host "more intimate conversations" by allowing the number of participants to attend the chat and also offering the option to set the price. Prices can range from €1 to €999. Likewise, Super Follows allows you to have a "direct relationship" with the most attractive subscribers who are happy to pay for access to additional content and more interaction. Here too, influencers or creators will have the option to choose the price between €2,99, €4,99 or €9,99 per month.

Generate income within the platform

With Ticketed Spaces and Super Follows, Twitter wants to retain content creators on the platform and continue to engage with their followers. The company will only keep 3% of the revenue share, however the Play Store and App Store, as applicable, will each collect 30% of the creator's revenue. This leaves creators receiving almost 66% of the amount paid by their fans. Additionally, Twitter will begin deducting 20% of future revenue once it exceeds €50,000 in lifetime revenue, leaving creators only half the amount after deductions from app stores and Twitter. “Our goal is to empower the people who are leading the conversations on Twitter and help them make money. We updated our revenue share cuts after spending more time thinking about how we might support emerging voices on Twitter. Said the Twitter spokesperson. Compared to other similar products on the market, Super Follows go directly to Patreon, and Ticketed Spaces help Twitter take on Clubhouse, Facebook's Live Room, and Spotify's Greenroom. While Patreon may still outperform Super Follows thanks to the lower fees it charges, Ticket Spaces will certainly give creators a good reason to stick with the platform.
