You'll see plenty of Black Friday PS4 deals all over the internet over the next week, but there's one you really need to watch out for, and it's live right now: PS Plus is cheaper. (Not in the UK? PS Plus, or PlayStation Plus to give it its full name, is a subscription that works on your PS4 (or PS5 if you're lucky enough to have one). It allows you to play many online multiplayer games, but the real fun is that it allows you to download free games every month. The games can be pretty good too - this month it's Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Hollow Knight, with Bugsnax available for PS5 owners - and you often get around $60 worth of free games a month. It's definitely more than you spend on PS Plus. PS Plus subscribers can also access 24 free PlayStation games through the recently launched PlayStation Plus Collection. Lots of people (including the author) buy the 12 month PS Plus pass once a year, on Black Friday when it's on sale, and rely on it for all their games. So if you're a budget gamer, skip all the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, and get yourself a PS Plus membership instead.
