Respawn teases a new Apex Legends character, and it could happen soon

It seems that Respawn Entertainment has a lot planned for Apex Legends in the near future.

We already know that Battle Royale is about to get its "most requested by fans" feature in the coming weeks, but it looks like a new Legend is on the cards too, according to a Twitter teaser. Respawn Entertainment Producer Tina Sanchez.

Rumor has it that a new character is coming to Apex Legends and everything indicates that the legend is a hacking specialist named Crypto. To date, we have not had many concrete details (or concrete confirmation) about Crypto. However, Sanchez recently tweeted a photo of her in full motion capture, holding a cane, accompanied by the message "Working on Apex Legends stuff" (via Dot Esports).

The key indicator of this image is the staff, an essential feature of the images of Crypto on the run. In addition, Sánchez does not deny that the legend is on the way.

When asked by a fan if this job involved Crypto, Sanchez simply responded with a mouthless emoji, hinting that it was the legend brandishing the staff the team was working on.

If this is the case, we could see Crypto join the list sooner than expected. Though he seemed to wish he would be added to the game as part of the Season 3 battle pass in October, Crypto may be the second hero Respawn teased will be joining in Season 2.

What do we know about crypto?

Shortly after Apex Legends launched in February, researchers began uncovering the possible Legends that would come into play, with Crypto among them (via Reddit).

However, rumors that Crypto would be the next legend to join Apex Legends began to surface in June when his laptop was found in King's Canyon shortly before the Battle Charge reveal.

This perfectly matches my first leak on this account. Octane and Wattson were revealed, Crypto was teased, and templates appear in the game files for Nomad! It is unclear if Crypto will be released or if more will be revealed during S2. pic.twitter.com/Iqm9FdZqnJJune 27, 2019

Crypto is likely to be the next legend added to the Apex Legends roster, bringing with him special hacking abilities. We don't know exactly what that will entail, but we imagine it will be similar to Overwatch's Sombra.

Repsawn Entertainment hasn't officially confirmed that Crypto is on the way, or when we'll see it, but we think it's likely to land in the next few weeks.
