What is a crypto wallet (and how does it handle digital currency)?


A cryptocurrency wallet is software that keeps track of the secret keys used to digitally sign cryptocurrency transactions for distributed ledgers. Because these keys are the only way to prove ownership of digital assets, and to execute transactions that transfer or modify them in one way or another, they are an essential element of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Better known as "crypto wallets", they are like car keys on a chain. Without these keys, the car would not roll.
