Paramount Pictures' Biggest Titles Hit Streaming Service Aussie Stan

With the launch of Disney Plus in Australia last November, there was a lot of speculation about what happened to Stan's current library. If his short-term contract with the Walt Disney Company expires once Disney Plus arrives, subscribers don't have to worry, because Stan's library will always remain, ahem, titanic.

The Australian streaming platform, owned by Nine Entertainment, has just announced the signing of a long-term partnership with Paramount Pictures, granting Stan exclusive rights to a host of television shows. and movies.

One of the first future posts on Stan will be an adaptation of John Green's novel, Looking for Alaska, by John Green, which will be available in October.

Other new Paramount Television shows to be added to Stan's library in the future include The Great, Made For Love, The Spy Who Entered the Cold, and a precedent for Sexy Beast.

And of course Paramount's extensive existing library will find a prominent place in Stan for weeks to come - Australians will be able to watch Mission: Impossible movies, feel the need for speed with Top Gun, get where no one has previously been with the Star Trek original series, and discover that Revenge is a best-served cold dish from The Trilogy Godfather.

"Paramount has created a fantastic collection of world-class scripted TV shows, plus iconic blockbusters, legendary movie franchises and a library of classics," said Stan CEO Mike. Sneesby. "We are excited to extend our relationship with Paramount as part of this new long-term production agreement, as part of our continued commitment to introduce Australians to the world's greatest films and television series."

With licenses already in place with Showtime, Starz and MGM, the new agreement with Paramount Pictures shows that Stan is focused on bringing in content from large production companies, unlike rival Netflix, which focuses on creating original content.
