“As more organizations turn to Linux servers, competitors have taken notice and are molding and customizing their approaches to attacking these systems. To stay protected, organizations need to look at a robust, lightweight Linux security layer that automatically integrates and shares intelligence with endpoints, network, and other security layers and platforms in a domain,” said Dan Schiappa, director of Sophos products.

Linux server protection

Sophos is drawing on information provided by its research arm SophosLabs to suggest that adversaries are slowly inventing more Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to target Linux systems in particular, for all manner of malicious activity, from cryptomining to ransomware. “Today's forwards are incredibly aggressive and diligent, as they tailor their TTP to focus on the simplest, most important or most dynamic situations,” says Schiappa. The combination will allow Sophos to offer a unique solution to help companies secure their Windows and Linux infrastructure, allowing them to better optimize their resources. He adds that apart from ACE, Sophos will also integrate the Capsule8 security platform with the rest of Sophos' security portfolio, including its Extended Discovery and Response (XDR) solutions, Intercept X server protection tools, and Sophos Managed Threat Response. (MTR). and fast answering services. Sophos plans to make the combined Sophos and Capsule8 products available to its Easy Access customers by the end of this year.
