Apple Arcade fans may have gotten their dream controller

If you're an Apple Arcade subscriber, you might want to take a look at PowerA's new iPhone driver.

The PowerA MOGA XP5-i Plus controller for iPhone devices seems to be suitable for playing the extensive Apple Arcade library. And it's available to buy from PowerA's own store, as well as Amazon for $79,99 (about $66,99 / AU$114,99). However, other regions and pricing have yet to be announced.

What makes the MOGA XP5-i Plus particularly attractive? The main feature has to be its built-in 3000 mAh power bank. This will allow the controller to charge your phone while docked, allowing you to recharge your batteries for longer gaming sessions.

The controller also features customizable button mapping, allowing you to swap inputs to suit your needs and preferences. It will surely be a winning feature not only for playing the best Apple Arcade games, but also for popular mobile titles like PUBG Mobile and Apex Legends.

We have all been there. You've just reached a crucial boss fight in a JRPG like Fantasian, or the final circle in PUBG Mobile... but your phone's battery has other ideas. This is something that should hopefully be a thing of the past with the MOGA XP5-i Plus's built-in power bank.

This is what I think is the main feature of the PowerA controller, especially for avid Apple Arcade gamers. And while it's not the first mobile controller to have a built-in power bank (PowerA's excellent MOGA XP5-X Plus introduced one a few years back), this latest version is a big win for iOS device owners looking to game on the go. . . for a long time.

However, this brings me to what is perhaps the biggest drawback of the MOGA XP5-i Plus. Since it's designed for iOS devices like iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV 4K, you won't be able to use it on other platforms like Android.

It's a shame, but PowerA has a strong track record of making quality mobile controllers for a variety of platforms. The aforementioned MOGA XP5-X Plus, for example, works with all the best Android phones.

Still, if you own an iOS device, I think PowerA's latest driver is one to watch. That's especially true if you like Apple Arcade's games list, which has plenty of console-quality titles that far exceed those in Apple's App Store.
