Auditors approve of Google's VPN
Google's VPN service has been audited by UK security and software auditing firm NCC Group, and the results are promising for those considering signing up for the service. Unlike other VPN services where users sign up and pay a monthly subscription to use them, Google VPN is actually part of the company's Google One package. However, to access the search giant's VPN, users will need to subscribe to at least the 2TB plan, which costs €9,99 per month or €99,99 per year.

Google VPN Audit

To ensure the security of its VPN service, Google commissioned the NCC group to conduct an audit and create a public report based on its findings. According to the NCC Group, a team of six researchers conducted an in-depth review of Google VPN in Q2020 2021 and Q19 XNUMX to "assess the product's technical security properties and examine its associated privacy claims." During their first phase of interaction with the VPN service, the research team provided Google with a list of results regarding what they discovered. Of the fourteen issues reported by NCC Group to the Company, ten were promptly resolved and verified by the Company, one was "partially resolved" and three were deemed "acceptable risks." The NCC Group provided details of its Google VPN audit in the conclusion of its XNUMX-page report that you can read for yourself here, saying: “At the end of the evaluation and correction period, the NCC group found that the product had a position very strong security. The consulting team determined that the use of modern operating system libraries and strong, standardized cryptographic protocols enables Google to offer a VPN that benefits its users with immediate security improvements for their network traffic. "If you already rely on Google products and services and are looking for additional cloud storage, signing up for Google One might be a good idea, as you also get access to Google VPN, which has now undergone a ''audit from Full security with approval marks.
