Reliance Jio will launch its JioFiber FTTH (Fiber Up Home) service in different cities in India from September 5. Announced at the 42nd Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Ltd, the above named GigaFiber home broadband service has been tested since last year in more than 0,5 million homes in India.
The trust is expected to accelerate the deployment of JioFiber in more cities across the country and reach more than 20 million homes over the next year. Reliance's home broadband service offers internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps, a fixed connection with unlimited calling, 4K UHD content over cable channels and OTT platforms, a Multi-party video calling setup, gaming solutions and IoT.
Although the company did not reveal JioFiber's plans at its annual general meeting, it hinted that prices would start at Rs 700 and go up to Rs 10,000. The company should reveal its plans on the day of JioFiber's commercial launch on September 5.

What is JioFiber?
JioFiber (formerly Jio GigaFiber) is a national broadband service from Reliance Jio that aims to provide affordable broadband internet connectivity in India.
In addition to basic internet connectivity, JioFiber also aims to deliver ultra HD content through a 4K set-top box, as well as features like video conferencing, gaming, home security, and smart home solutions.
How fast is JioFiber?
Reliance has confirmed that its JioFiber broadband service will offer speeds of up to 1 Gbps over the Internet. Even the basic package, which is expected to cost around Rs 700, will offer a speed of 100 Mbps.
As the plans reach Rs 10,000, we expect different speeds as we go through the baselines. At AGA, Reliance did not disclose any FUP limits or indicate the amount of data provided with the base plan.
As part of the JioFiber preview offering, Reliance offers unlimited 100GB data at speeds of up to 100Mbps.
How much do JioFiber packages cost?
At its annual general meeting on August 12, Reliance revealed that JioFiber plans will start at Rs.700 and reach Rs.1000.

Can I make voice calls from a JioFiber connection?
Yes. Reliance is included in the landline service with JioFiber at no additional charge. A user can make voice calls from their Jio FixedLine number in two ways.
The first and easiest way is to connect the JioFiber router to a basic landline phone using the RJ-11 cable provided with the broadband connection. This will allow users to initiate free phone calls from the landline unit to anywhere in India.
Now if you don't have a landline, you can set the assigned FixedLine Jio number on a smartphone by downloading the Jio Call app. This does not require a SIM card and users will be able to make calls with their JioFiber number.
Can I play games on the JioFiber decoder?
Reliance revealed that JioFiber subscribers of the 4K set-top box will be able to play console games. To this end, the company has announced partnerships with Microsoft Game Studios, Riot Games, Tencent Games, Gameloft, Milestone, and more. The decoder is also compatible with most console controllers.
Jio is trying to integrate its game catalog with Jio Games, which was briefly teased during the JioFiber demo last month. That being said, we don't know how many games will be offered with the JioFiber subscription nor is it a separate service with different packages. There is also no information on how the decoder can render "console-like" games with low or no latency.

Reliance Jio has also revealed that based on JioFiber's welcome offer, customers who subscribe to Jio Forever's annual packages are eligible to receive a free Full HD / 4K TV or home PC, as well as free shipping. A 4K decoder.
