Nvidia RTX 4070 leak may show off the mid-range GPU option we've been waiting for

The grapevine has dropped a lot of rumors about a possible release of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Founder's Edition, and new images of the graphics card have recently leaked.

If these leaked images from VideoCardz turn out to be true, we now have a clear preview of what the RTX 4070 FE will look like. In response to VideoCardz, Twitter user David Giannis also posted more images of the card.

It features a dual-slot design with a smaller body than the 4080, which means it should fit in most PC cases. It would, however, have a 16-pin 12VHPWR power connector, which would make it less compatible with most PSUs, although GPUs that use the connector usually come with adapter cables.

The RTX 4070 appears to have a short V-shaped PCB, which means the second fan is exposed on both sides. And looking at the material, it appears to be surrounded by metal, giving it the balance of being a more affordable card that retains some of the premium quality seen in more premium cards. The card is rumored to allow up to four displays to be connected via one HDMI 2.1 connector or three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors.

The RTX 4070 FE will reportedly launch on April 13 with an MSRP of €599, which would make it a great mid-range option for gamers.

Mid-range options could finally arrive

This generation introduced the best graphics cards we've seen to date. However, the price of these higher-end cards has been astronomical, with the RTX 4090 coming in at €1,599 and the 4080 following close behind at €1,199.

We've been out of the cheaper options for several months now, a huge misstep considering that 3000-series graphics cards were out of reach for most gamers thanks to rampant crypto mining during the previous generation. But hopefully, if these rumors are true, we should see a release soon.

Not only will we have the 4070 FE on the way, but a 4060 FE is also reportedly on the way, according to a leaked image from March 2023. While there's no word on when this card might launch and we don't have any information on pricing, given Since the body appears to be plastic, we can imagine that the MSRP will be solidly within the budget range.

Hopefully we'll get more budget graphics cards if Nvidia shows up. But for now, take these unconfirmed rumors with a grain of salt until we have official word.
