HD came to Now TV: Now you can stream in 1080p with Now TV Boost
Two years of teasing and Now has finally done it: In case you haven't heard, you can now stream (most of) your favorite Now TV content in HD. It's all thanks to the Now TV Boost bolt on to the streaming platform, which you can add to your Sky Cinema, Entertainment, Sky Sports or Kids Pass. However, this comes at an additional cost, as you'll have to pay an extra €3 on top of your selected pass, meaning if you pay €8.99 for your entertainment pass, HD quality would bring your total up to €11.99 per month. . But since Now TV lets you get a free trial of your passes (with the exception of Sky Sports) and since the Boost upgrade is also accompanied by a free trial, you can always try it out and then cancel to see how it looks.

Is TV Boost good now?

While we've been waiting for 1080p streaming on Now TV for quite some time and we're glad it's here, there are a few caveats to keep in mind. It doesn't seem like great value for money to begin with as your channel options are limited (see below) and you can get Netflix in HD for just £8.99 per month or Amazon Prime Video in HD (which is included in Amazon Prime). ), which will only cost you €7.99 per month. The feature is only available on Sky Sports, entertainment channels except Fox and Gold, all Sky Cinema channels and all children's channels except Cartoonito and Nickelodeon. So Hayu is not included there, if reality is your thing. And if you're someone who watches more on your mobile phone or tablet than your TV, we're afraid to say that Now TV's mobile app isn't included in the list of supported devices. So you'll be stuck with good old 720p. "The lack of full HD 1080p streaming has embarrassed Now TV for years (Game of Thrones looked horrible), so it's great to finally see HD added," said Brendan Griffiths, eCommerce editor. on our sister site GamesRadar "But this isn't a free upgrade, but it's a real slap in the face for subscribers. Now individual streaming TV subscriptions were already among the most expensive in the UK and it's built some of the biggest libraries of content Disney Plus will offer HD and 4K for cheap soon in the UK and Now TV will likely be the first sub most viewers will drop on Netflix and Amazon Bonus."
