Halo Infinite goes back to the roots of the series, and Master Chief never looked so good

Microsoft kicked off its Xbox Games Showcase with an in-depth reveal of Halo Infinite's gameplay, and it was filled with the nostalgia and major modern advances the series craved. Running on Xbox Series X, Halo Infinite is a beautiful game, more focused on the open world, full of enemies, physics, vehicles, and explosions. In the gameplay reveal, which you can check out below, we saw a lot of Halo staples like the Warthog, Assault Rifle, and Plasma Grenades. . However, everything looks much more realistic than before, thanks to the game's new Slip Space Engine. The parallels to Halo: Combat Evolved are also very evident in the trailer. The Master Chief's clash lands in what appears to be another Halo constellation, and he is free to roam the world, eradicating Covenant scum as he goes. It's easy to see that sprinting is good in the game - a controversial addition to some - with a new map screen allowing players to pick and tackle objectives. Halo has always been a sandbox shooter, but it looks like things will get deeper in Halo Infinite.

Halo, old friend

While most of the specs are here, and thankfully, we get a glimpse of the Master Chief's new weapon: a grappling hook. The grappling hook allows the Master Chief to shoot himself at enemies and possibly drag objects towards him as well.
