Fitbit Versa Lite Review | The comparison

Fitbit Versa Lite Review | The comparison Do you want a smartwatch but don't want to pay a lot for it? There are plenty of cheap smartwatch options out there, but most of Fitbit's options so far, namely the Fitbit Versa and Fitbit Ionic, started off relatively expensive, so the company wanted to change that with its Versa Lite. The Fitbit Versa Lite Edition is a remake of the best-selling Fitbit Versa of 2018, but it comes with a few features removed to ensure a slightly lower price. When it comes to the entire Versa line, the Fitbit Versa 2 trumps the two with more features, but it also costs more, so people looking for a budget device will always find the Versa Lite preferable.

It's still not the cheapest smartwatch on the market, but it's significantly lower than Versa's original retail price and much less than the Ionic, making it potentially one of the best options for your first smartwatch. Plus, it can also be a great way to dive into the world of wearables and start tracking your fitness. The Versa Lite no longer rounds out our roundup of the best Fitbits after the release of the Versa 3 and Inspire 2, but if money is tight it's still worth considering at the right price.

Image Credit: Fitbit After being announced in March 2019, you can now buy the Fitbit Versa Lite worldwide. You'll often find it next to the original Fitbit Versa, so you'll want to make sure you're looking at the correct version. Pricing is where it gets interesting, at just $159.95 / £149.99 / AU$249.95, compared to the Fitbit Versa's standard retail price of £199.95 / £199.99 / AU$299. We've seen the price drop a lot lately of the Versa, but in some places. In fact, Amazon sold the Fitbit Versa for just $95 / $135.99 during the Christmas 145 sales period, so we expect retailers to pick up the Fitbit Versa Lite and drop the price in the following months by comparison. the first day, but there is no guarantee that it will. At the time of writing our review, the Fitbit Versa was available on Amazon UK for just €2018, which is obviously a bit more than the Versa Lite's retail price at €154. This is something to keep in mind, so if you can get the Versa for just a little more, we'd recommend buying that instead. Months after its release, the Versa Lite also saw price drops, so it retains its place as a budget Versa device, with the original Versa slightly more expensive and the Versa 149.99 the most exclusive of the trio.

If you've used the Fitbit Versa, you'll learn more about the design on offer here. The Lite Edition is, no surprise here, the company's lightest smartwatch to date, although we don't currently know the exact weight of the device. During our week of testing, we found the watch to be comfortable, which will be especially great if you have smaller wrists. It certainly suits you much better than the Fitbit Ionic. This watch is water resistant to 50 meters, but it is not specially designed for the pool as it does not have swim tracking. The durability in water is most useful when running in the rain or accidentally submerging your wrist. There's a touch screen on the front and it's a color screen with a 300 x 300 resolution (it's the same as the Fitbit Versa). It looked sharp and bright in our testing time, but Fitbit's display technology has never felt as vibrant as the Apple Watch 4 or some Wear OS devices. There are thick bezels around the screen here, but if you're wearing a black watch face, it's hard to notice them. The Fitbit logo is also inscribed along the bottom bezel.

<p class="vanilla-image-block" style="padding-top:56.27%;"> The screen isn't quite as responsive as on the Samsung Galaxy Watch or Apple Watch 4, but it works well enough that you can navigate and use the Versa Lite's various apps and features. The left edge of the watch contains the only button you'll use on the Fitbit Versa Lite Edition, which will wake up the watch ready to navigate the menus. The watch itself is available in the colors white, lilac, mulberry and navy blue. Get it in one of the latter two and the body of the watch will be the same color (instead of silver), providing an interesting effect we haven't seen on previous Fitbit products. We used the blue option and it's a bold color choice. Your watch will come with a silicone strap in the box, but there are a selection of other straps you can buy together if you want to mix up the look. You can also buy existing Fitbit Versa accessories to pair with the Versa Lite, so be sure to check out our best Fitbit Versa bands if you're looking for a different look.
