Fitbit has released a set of new short mindfulness sessions for Fitbit Premium subscribers, which you can find in the app right now. Earlier this week, some Fitbit Premium subscribers were alarmed by a user survey that seemed to suggest the company may be considering raising the price of subscriptions. Fitbit was quick to allay any concerns, explaining that it had no plans to change its pricing or privacy policies at this time. The company said in a statement that it continues to invest in its Premium service, a claim that appears to be supported by the suite of new wellness tools that began rolling out to the app today (February 22). The sessions, all under 20 minutes, were created in collaboration with meditation advocate and physician Deepak Chopra, and use a combination of audio and video designed to reduce stress and promote sleep. The company has been engaged in "wellness" technology for several years; Guided breathing sessions are available on most of its devices, and last year it launched stress-sensing Fitbit Sense, which uses the conductivity of your skin to determine if you're feeling tense.
