We may not escape Zoom for long.

We may not escape Zoom for long.

The era of Zoom calls may soon be over, based on new perhaps unsurprising predictions from the company itself.

The video conferencing giant, which has been one of the pandemic's biggest success stories, has said it can play a significant role in the post-pandemic world.

It would primarily be about facilitating and encouraging hybrid work, as employees seek to divide their time between the office and a more comfortable home environment.

Zoom into the future

"I think there are three big changes taking place after the pandemic that companies are investing in that are driving our growth and relevance," Ricky Kapur of Zoom, Asia-Pacific region manager, told CNBC.

The audacity follows the company's most recent financial results last month, in which it revealed that it continues to expand its customer base as hybrid work becomes increasingly popular with companies around the world.

The company added that it has been particularly successful in attracting larger clients, each contributing more than € 100,000 each in the last twelve months of revenue, and Zoom also has 512,100 clients with more than 10 employees.

“Employees demand flexible work arrangements and the ability to work without friction no matter where they are,” Kapur added, noting that clients of all sizes are also looking for more customizable and flexible work approaches.

“Whether it's a retail experience, the ability to feed the store live and speak to a person live, see a product, have a real conversation, and then make a purchasing decision. Consumers expect that from companies, ”he said.

Zoom has worked hard to continue the incredible growth it has enjoyed during the pandemic while trying to keep up with rivals like Microsoft Teams.

This includes recent updates, such as the live transcript, which is now available to all free Zoom accounts, as previously only offered to paid subscribers.
