JioFiber Rs 199 plan is now available as a supplement to current plans

Reliance JioFiber launched an affordable plan of Rs 199 (additional GST) at the end of December 2019 as a standalone offer. Today, the ISP now makes the same plan available to users as an add-on module to their current plans. Once the 1TB limit is reached, the speed drops to 1Mbps. Since this plan can act as both a standalone module and an add-on module, it is beneficial for users. It's also the highest value-for-money plan in JioFiber's arsenal, whose plans failed to attract the public after highly anticipated debuts. Standalone, this plan will cost Rs 940 for 28 days, while an add-on plan will cost Rs 235 (with TPS). The only drawback seems to be the weekly recharging cycle that users will have to go through. Also, users of the plan will not have access to Jio apps like JioTV, Jio Cinema, or other streaming apps if they don't already have it. However, it does offer free voice calls. Compared to the leading Rs 849 plan, the Rs 199 subscription offers 5 times more data at 3,5 times cheaper. In related news, Reliance is working to extend JioFiber broadband connectivity in the NCR area of Delhi to support higher data usage during the lockdown period. JioFiber's subscriber base was 0,86 million at the end of 2019, but it could improve with these plans and the planned lockout extension until April 30.
