Opera game browser can limit browsing for smoother streaming

Opera GX, a web browser designed specifically for games, can now limit your browsing speed to free up bandwidth when you play games.

The browser, from the team behind the classic Opera, is packed with tools designed to appeal to PC gamers, including Twitch integration tools, RAM and processor optimization, and access to Special Discounts on popular titles.

The latest version allows you to limit the browser itself to free up more bandwidth for gaming and streaming. Choose your preferred limit from a drop-down menu and the browser will keep it.

"Many of us like to stream music from YouTube or from a Netflix movie in our browser while playing a game and streaming the game in parallel. This requires a lot of bandwidth and sometimes you may need to use your browser and consuming too much. We have solved this problem, "said Maciej Kocemba, Product Manager, Opera GX.

And then...

Opera GX now also includes a release schedule for the game, allowing you to see all upcoming releases at a glance without having to browse the web,

Twitch support has also been improved, including the ability to filter your tracked channel list, as well as improved support for Razer Chroma. Opera GX has allowed you to choose custom colors since its launch, but the transitions between tones are now smoother.

You may prefer to stick with your usual browser for everyday use, but for gaming sessions, Opera GX is worth taking for a walk. As we've seen before, Opera isn't afraid to try new features before other developers (like a built-in cryptocurrency wallet and a free VPN), so it's not a problem. There could be interesting additions to the horizon.
