GoPro's Black Hero 8 kills the gimbal with image stabilization to the next level

After a little leak, GoPro officially announced its Hero 8 Black action camera. Next to him, the new GoPro Max, a 360-degree video camera that replaces the GoPro Fusion.

The flagship Hero 8 Black shares the same GP1 processor and 12 MP camera as its predecessor, but unlike the Hero 7 Black it features many chassis improvements and the entire operating system has been rewritten to support a variety of software updates and new versions. Shooting skills.

HyperSmooth 2.0 provides extended image stabilization across all Hero 8 Black shooting modes and speeds. Additionally, the interface includes new Capture presets that allow you to customize shooting profiles and quickly swap between them.

GoPro has abandoned the frame mounting system by replacing it with built-in folding arms (or "fingers" as GoPro calls them) that connect the Hero 8 Black to all existing media. There is also a new front microphone with improved wind noise suppression, which means that recordings should sound much better than before.

A number of improvements to image processing and accelerated processing should make snappers happy. These include HDR photo processing and improved night mode, new RAW photo output, and improved video bit rates of 100Kbps 2.7K and 4K.

Maximize your action

The new Max Spherical video camera has arrived with Hero 8 Black, a lighter and smaller version of the current 360-degree Fusion snapper, and like its flagship brother, it receives foldable arms (or fingers) for tripod mounting. .

The Max sees the return of spherical audio capture through its integrated six-microphone network and also benefits from the Hero 2.0 Black's Horizon Leveling and HyperSmooth 8 enhancements.

In fact, many of the Hero 8 Black's features are available on the Max, including GoPro's stabilized time-lapse photo mode called TimeWarp 2.0, as well as a suite of software tools that allow you to take wide-angle photographs and flat perspectives without lens accessories.

The Max includes two 180-degree chassis lenses, one at the front and one at the rear, making this shooter's SuperView video format 360 degrees wider than on the Hero 8 Black. There is also a Power Panorama mode that takes wide-angle photos and cuts them into a large flat-screen format. You will not see imperfectly stitched frames here, dear friends.

GoPro has also integrated the powerful spherical overcapture video editor into a new section of the GoPro smartphone app called Reframe. This new editing section allows you to convert 360-degree videos into flat 2D videos with smooth panoramas and custom transitions right from your phone.

Compared to the Hero 8 Black, the Max is slightly more expensive and costs € 499 (€ 479). As a flagship product, it is available for pre-order starting today, but it will ship overseas a little later on the 24th, and US retailers will receive their products the next day, October 25th.
