Disney Plus Hotstar: New Prices, Packages, and Membership Details in India
Disney Plus Hotstar India prices, packages and memberships will change in the coming weeks. The company has announced new plans for the Indian market with a Netflix-style approach, while one of the most popular and affordable plans, Hotstar VIP, will be dropped. The new Disney Plus Hotstar plans will now start at Rs 499 instead of Rs 399 (VIP) and the all access content plan which is currently priced at Rs 1,499 will remain the same. This is what the new plans look like.

New Disney Plus Hotstar Package and Price

Starting September 1, 2021, you will be offered three new packages instead of two. Following in the footsteps of Netflix, the Disney Plus Hotstar mobile-only plan will debut for Rs 499 and will only support one mobile device at a time. Disney Plus Hotstar Super package costs Rs 899 and offers access to two devices at the same time on phone, web and TV and finally the cost of the premium packages remains the same at Rs 1,499 but will offer access on four devices , two additional devices from the current plan. While the basic plan may seem like a big leap, Disney Plus Hotstar has confirmed that all content including Disney+ Originals, the latest US shows, Hollywood blockbusters, Marvel movies and shows, and all the content will be available on the platform regardless of the plan of choice. The Mobile and Super plans support videos up to HD quality, while the Premium plan can go up to 4K resolution. For reference, the VIP plan provided access to Cricket and regional content, including the IPL, but a lot of foreign and original content was restricted. It also looks like the monthly plans are being discontinued as well.
