Death Stranding is coming to PC Game Pass but it's not the version you expect

After several days of teasers, Death Stranding is finally confirmed to release on PC Game Pass next week.

Death Stranding on PC Game Pass is certainly a pleasant surprise, but if you're wondering why a Sony-published game made its way to Microsoft's subscription service, there's a simple answer. While Sony has expanded its PC release considerably, including recently Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, it never released the PC port of Death Stranding, which was handled by 505 Games.

As such, don't expect this to come to Xbox Game Pass. While Xbox Game Pass UItimate bundles in PC Game Pass, the 505 publishing rights only cover the two PC versions, excluding an Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S skin. Also, Death Stranding and Death Stranding: Director's Cut they were added to the revamped PS Plus in June, available to Extra and Premium tier subscribers.

Unfortunately, it's not all good news for Xbox Game Pass this month. Having arrived on the service almost a year ago, subscribers will miss out on one of the best roguelike games on August 30, Hades, along with nine other games. Still, it's not like Game Pass subscribers are being left behind. Even without Death Stranding, August still has plenty of games to come.
