Star on Disney Plus arrives in the UK on February 23. What is the meaning of this? Well, that basically means you'll get a lot more TV shows and movies for your Disney Plus membership, including some new originals. Star is a new tile added to the home page, just like Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars, it will throw a bunch of other stuff into the library. This includes adult entertainment that was previously off-limits to the family-friendly platform. Now, Disney UK has revealed everything that landed with Star's arrival on February 23, including more than 75 TV shows and more than 270 additional movies. Four originals are also coming to release: Big Sky, Love, Victor, Helstrom, and Solar Opposites. The latter is an original animated series from Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland. The all-star library includes everything from Deadpool 2 and The Favourite, to classic TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Alias. You can find the full list below. Star will also host new originals made by Disney-owned studios in the future. Confirmed for 2021, the show Dopesick starring Michael Keaton and Rosario Dawson will land on the service, along with the Elizabeth Holmes drama The Dropout with Kate McKinnon. It looks like Disney Plus will also be the future home of new FX shows, with Jeff Bridges The Old Man series confirmed for this year. The app will get new parental controls to filter out this influx of content, and Disney Plus will get a price bump from $5.99 per month to $7.99 on February 23, or from $59.99 to $79 for yearly subscribers. However, if you are a pre-existing subscriber, the price increase will not start until August 90.
