Stock photography platform Dreamstime has launched a new free pricing plan and a new way for photographers to earn more money from their contributions to the site.
By revamping its free content plan, the Adobe Stock alternative has also enabled more ways to support content creators on the site, with users being able to tip photographers whose work they upload.

Dreamstime now allows users free access to its library of free photos. Alternatively, a €4.99 / €4.42 subscription offers unlimited downloads from the catalog of royalty-free images, as well as a lifetime commercial license.
It's also now easier for subscribers to upgrade to the site's many commercial plans, unlocking premium content, by paying the difference in price rather than starting a new subscription.
The company, which also offers free videos, artwork and audio samples, said the improved free package gives users more options for licensing images downloaded from the site.
Users can now also tip site contributors, a feature found on many user-generated content platforms. These are optional, averaging €5 to €10, though Dreamstime says personalized donations can range from €1 to €1,000. All tips go directly to the taxpayer, with no commission charges.
According to the company, "the agency has added a download reward mechanism that allows designers to get resonant images for free and potentially sponsor contributors, motivating them to create more premium content."
