In theory, if there's a huge jump in new mining sites, disruptions could happen, he acknowledged. But the government is working with power producers and distributors to want to load the grid before handing out mining licenses to avoid a power shortage, he said. Since huge numbers of miners are not likely to migrate overnight, the network can handle the miners' demand for electricity, Klentsov said.
